Tackling teenage pregnancy and SRE
Primary schools are key players in helping to improve outcomes for children and young people around relationships. In the primary school, an effective programme focusing on friendships and respect is the essential foundation that the secondary school later builds upon when sexual wellbeing is considered. Ultimately the work may contribute to reducing the number of unintended teenage conceptions as well as improving the quality of sexual relationships.
Your Healthy Schools Plus work will be based on good, effective SRE throughout Key Stages 1 to 4. Download this checklist of things that should be in place in school as a foundation for your HS Plus work and use our SRE minisite to help with any gaps you may identify.
Download these draft information sheets for examples of the possible actions that your school might take to lead to healthier behaviour outcomes.

Christopher Winter Project
We are forging strong links with the Christopher Winter Project (CWP) in order that Cornish schools may make use of their excellent good practice.
We have been so impressed with the experience of schools in Cohort 1 that we are making work with the Christopher Winter Project and Speakeasy a suggested project for Cohort 2, read more on the headline projects page.

TPIAG
In its sixth annual report the Teenage Pregnancy Independent Advisory Group welcomes the government's intention that PSHE be made statutory and urges the government to prioritise the legislation's passage through Parliament. TPIAG also recognises the important role Healthy Schools have to play in delivering high quality PSHE and SRE.
