Audit tools
Here are a number tools that can help you assess, review and record your healthy schools work and status.
The Four Core Themes handout can be used at the initial staff meeting, with governors and with the School Council. For staff meetings or twilight sessions, paperwork for group review has lots of space to record the results of your brainstorming.
Audit Prompt Tool Each criterion is listed against the minimum evidence required. The tool also gives prompts about how minimum evidence can be met, together with some useful resources and contacts who may be able to help.
Self Audit form If you like, you can prepare records of your progress and evidence on this form. Then, when you go online you can type without having to think so that you can save your work very quickly.
Why we think we are a healthy school Use this to help gather evidence from the wider school community to contribute to your audit.
Pupils see things from their own perspective, so information collected by them can often provide illuminating evidence. We developed Your school wants to be a healthy school! for this purpose. Schools say that not only do the pupils find it fun to do, but also that the evidence they produce is both helpful and revealing.
We strongly recommend that you use the online audit tool which is part of the national healthy schools website and database.
