Food in Schools training for primary teachers and TAs

Primary teachers and teaching assistants! If you are interested in receiving this training, please contact us, putting Food in Schools Training as the subject of your message.

A Food Partnership is a continuing professional development (CPD) programme organised between a secondary school and its family of feeder primary schools. The aim is to develop food and nutrition education, specifically practical work with food, as a key learning activity. The training is run by the secondary food specialist teacher. Primary teachers who attend the training are likely to be the design and technology co-ordinators who will ensure that the programmes are developed within their individual schools.

Food in Schools training is now available as a one-day course and can be provided by the following schools/teachers:

  • Cape Cornwall School - Briony Bates
  • Helston Community College - Pip Iles
  • Liskeard Community College - Judith Pile
  • Newquay Tretherras School - Jacqui Drew
  • Penrice Community College - Charlotte Selley
  • Poltair School - Kerry Partis
  • St. Ives School and Techology College - Rachael Martin
  • The Roseland Community School - Wendy Lloyd

In addition, Pip Iles is a Licence to Cook lead practitioner who will be doing a lot with Key Stage 3 teachers. Pip is also running Kernow Cook.
