This guidance was produced by the (then) DfES with the Department of Health: Managing medicines in schools and early years settings.
Education and early years health training awareness
Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Children's Community Health Services and the Skills Development Programme run a study morning to equip teachers and other staff in education with basic skills and knowledge about medicines management. The training covers asthma, epilepsy, diabetes and anaphylaxis and the use of the EpiPen. Topics covered are signs and symptoms, safe storage of medicines, care plans and the role in emergency medication. The training is suitable for teachers and other staff in education. It is hoped that this training will be run twice a year, to book your place email Skills Development or phone them on 01208 251503.

The Health Protection Agency issued this Guidance on infection control in schools and other childcare settings, April 2010. In the form of a poster, this document gives guidance on the most common infectious diseases and the recommended periods for which children should be kept away from school or nursery.
