Primary resources
Christopher Winter Project
We think that CWP's resource is superb and we've devoted two whole pages to it: Teaching drug and alcohol education with confidence in primary schools and CWP drug and alcohol education curriculum overview.

BBC Active
BBC Active has produced Drug Education Age 9-11 in the Whiteboard Active series. The resource includes video clips with accompanying activities and discussion points.
BNTL Freeway
Drugs and their dangers at Key Stage 1 is from the British National Temperance League (BNTL Freeway) and contains three fully resourced and illustrated lesson plans. In a similar format, Alcohol and your body is for Key Stage 2. Also from BNTL Freeway, Basic drugs awareness provides notes on the effects and risks of drugs, together with activity sheets and worksheets.
Tacade
Tacade also produces some useful resources, including The World of Drugs and The World of Tobacco (both in the Skills for the Primary School Child series). Here is a sample from Tacade's Keys to alcohol: for children aged 7 to 11 years old.
Supporting children affected by parental alcohol misuse
This toolkit, developed by Alcohol Concern and funded by the Department of Health, is a web-based resource with specific sections for teachers, school nurses and the other professional groups. Go to Supporting children affected by parental alcohol misuse.
