National Child Measurement Programme
Weighing and measuring of pupils in Reception and Year 6
Many thanks to everyone who takes part in this and works hard to make it happen.
The programme is vital to helping to reduce childhood obesity, which is in turn fundamental to the government's public health agenda and to the aims of the Healthy Schools programme.
As the programme continues and data is collected year on year the benefits to children and families emerge. These include gaining a better understanding of the overall picture and allowing practitioners to target resources effectively. At the same time more is set up to support children, families and schools to help achieve healthier weights, see Families In It Together.

On these pages we hope to bring together all the tools and resources you'll need to undertake the NCMP in school (including consent forms and other paperwork) as well as information about the support the Cornwall Healthy Schools Team can offer schools.

Results and data for Cornwall, the south west and nationally
We have produced our own leaflet explaining what the National Child Measurement Programme is and how the data are being used. We hope it answers your concerns. Nationally, the NHS also produced an explanatory flyer for children, Calling all Year 6 pupils.
