BHF and Resuscitation Council UK campaign
The British Heart Foundation and the Resuscitation Council UK have jointly launched a campaign to make Emergency Life Support (ELS) a compulsory part of the curriculum in England.
This follows from research which showed that more than half (60%) of children are powerless to help someone who has collapsed in the street despite three quarters (73%) wanting to be able to help.
The survey also revealed overwhelming support from both teachers and parents for children learning ELS. More than 4 in 5 teachers (86%) believe it should be taught at school and 70% of parents agree, read more on the BHF website.
