Healthy Schools at the Cornwall Food and Drink Festival

Pencoys Primary School and Tregony Primary school took part in the Cornwall Food and Drink Festival Schools cookery challenge at the festival on Sunday 28th September.

 Their challenge was to create a healthy breakfast from the fresh, locally grown ingredients available at the festival. The two teams of four worked alongside tops chefs Hick form Gaudi's restauarant in Truro and Neil from Fifteen to create their delicious dishes. 

 I was so impressed by the amount of incredible hard work and planning that had gone into their ideas and just how relaxed they were when they found themselves cooking live on stage in front of an excited audience and being frequently interrupted to give live broadcasts on Radio Cornwall!

 It was also wonderful to see so many staff and parents from each school their to support their teams. A smashing event and well done to the organisers for wanting to involve and encourage schools.

Tregony just won by a few marks in the eyes of the judges but in reality everyone of the children were winners - by being such fabulous ambassadors for the schools.
