KICK 2011 for CLIC Sargent

28 Mar 2011

KICK: the fun football fundraiser

KICK is a nationwide initiative that encourages schools, groups and youth football clubs across the country to organise their own football-themed fundraising events in support of children with cancer. CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity and expects 100,000 young people to take part in events, such as penalty shoot-outs and A Pound To Play tournaments, this spring and summer.

CLIC Sargent provides a free event pack containing everything organisers need, such as fundraising tips, advice on getting publicity for the event, sponsor forms and materials to promote the event. As well as raising money for CLIC Sargent, schools, groups and clubs can choose to keep 25% of the funds to reinvest into their own sporting initiatives.

How to get involved

1.       Register for your free event pack,  either online or by phoning 08451 202232.

2.       Decide what to do. Your pack will contain lots of information and ideas.

3.       Start fundraising!

4.       Hold your event. Your free pack will provide everything you need (stickers, sponsor forms and media tips for local publicity).

Last year, CLIC Sargent supported more than sixty children in Cornwall diagnosed with cancer, and their families. CLIC Sargent provides medical, financial, emotional and psychosocial support but at present can only help two out of three families whose child has cancer. You can help change this!

Rosannah Whitehurst is CLIC Sargent's Assistant Events Fundraiser for Devon and Cornwall. For more information email Rosannah or go to CLIC Sargent's website.
