Attention all school cookery clubs
10 Nov 2008
Apply now to become a Let's Get Cooking associate club

If you are running an extra-curricular cooking club at your school, you can apply now online to join Let's Get Cooking as an associate club, and become part of our national network of cookery clubs.
Let's Get Cooking is a Lottery-funded programme to set up a national network of school-based cooking clubs for children, their families and the wider community. During the first five years of the programme we are inviting 2,000 existing cooking clubs to join as associate members.
Let's Get Cooking associate clubs receive:
- £500 funding to help you open out your cooking activities to families and the wider community. £400 funding will be paid in the first year, and £100 in the second year.
- Resources including recipes and ideas for cooking activities, wall charts, stickers and much more!
- Access to the Club Zone of the Let's Get Cooking website, where clubs can download resources, share tips and recipes, set up your own club website and purchase discounted cooking equipment.
- Access to regional staff who can provide support and advice, and who can link you with other Let's Get Cooking clubs in your region.
What is the definition of an associate club?
Associate club membership is open to schools that have an existing cooking club. This is defined as:
An extra-curricular school-based group, which:
Has met at least six times during the last 12 months to prepare and cook food
Has an adult available to lead the club who is competent to teach club members to prepare and cook food
You will also be required to open out your cooking activities to parents, family members and the wider school community and provide simple activity reports via our website.
