South west e-safety helpline for professionals
This pilot helpline is part of the UK Safer Internet Centre. It is for all professionals and volunteers in the south west of England who work with children and young people and aims to address the online safety issues that they face, both professionally and personally; download the poster.
Research published by the University of Plymouth confirms that online abuse of professionals (and volunteers) is a significant issue, read more. The study also found that 30% of incidents were not resolved by senior management. The helpline (based in Exeter) aims to plug this gap by providing advice on e-safety issues and supporting workers and volunteers in the south west to regain control over their professional identities.
You can email the helpline at any time but please note that the telephone line 0844 381 4772 is staffed from Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm only.
