Scolliow Yah Kernow Awards 2009

We introduced our highly successful Scolly awards for good practice in Healthy Schools work in 2008. This year we're building on their success and we've got lots of new categories for nominations.

Mithian School Scolly award 2008

The Scolliow Yah Kernow awards, inevitably dubbed the "Scollys"

The awards are open to any school or Pupil Referral Unit participating in the Healthy Schools programme (whether having already achieved Healthy School status or working towards it) and are intended to celebrate the work of the schools across the core themes and commend the people who make that work happen.

Schools and/or individuals can nominate themselves for an award and can be nominated by a member of the HS team or one of our partners working alongside schools.

The 2009 categories:

  • Good practice in PSHE
  • Good practice in Healthy Eating
  • Good practice in Physical Activity
  • Good practice in Emotional Health and Wellbeing
  • Pupil parliament or school council involvement in Healthy Schools work
  • Parents involved in Healthy Schools work
  • Gardening and growing
  • Cookery including clubs
  • Good practice in Healthy Schools Plus
  • Super schools meals
  • Lovely lunchtimes and peaceful playtimes
  • Counselling, support and guidance for pupils

  • Above and Beyond Award

Scollys: recognising ongoing good practice in HS Work

These specific Scollys will be awarded each year at our conference and award ceremony but they also serve a dual purpose as we are going to introduce the Scolliow Yah Kernow award for any school submitting an audit between revalidations in order to demonstrate progression in HS work.

Download the flyer with the nomination form and make a nomination.
