Scolliow Yah Kernow Awards 2010

On Friday 18th June at the Sands Resort Hotel Newquay, Katherine Gronqvist, CIOSPCT's Deputy Director of Public Health, presented our 2010 Scolly Awards for good practice in Healthy Schools work. 2010 is the third year of our highly successful awards; we introduced them in 2008 and built on their success in 2009, our tenth birthday year.

The awards are open to any school participating in the Healthy Schools programme (whether having already achieved Healthy School status or working towards it). The awards are intended to celebrate the work of schools across the core themes and commend the people who make that work happen.

Schools and/or individuals can nominate themselves for an award and can be nominated by a member of the Healthy Schools team or one of our partners working alongside schools.

The 2010 categories:

  • Someone making an outstanding contribution to Healthy Schools in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in 2009-2010
  • The contribution of pupils to a school's Healthy Schools work (the school nominates the pupils, if chosen from the nomination form the pupils will be invited to give a five-minute presentation about their contribution at our Awards Ceremony)
  • Good practice in PSHEe
  • Good practice in Healthy Eating
  • Good practice in Physical Activity
  • Good practice in Emotional Health and Wellbeing
