Change 4 Life

We all know that we need to be more active and to eat more healthily. If we don't, by 2050, 90% of today's children will be overweight and at risk from serious disease.

Through Change 4 Life the government is involving local organisations, charities, the fitness industry and major supermarket chains and companies, to create a lifestyle revolution that will help families to eat well, engage in more physical activity and live long, healthy lives.

Change4Life and the work that schools are doing for Healthy Schools Plus have inspired us to create Families In It Together! FIT Cornwall.

SmallSteps4Life

Teachers are being encouraged to get involved with SmallSteps4Life which can be used in the classroom to motivate and support pupils as they take small steps in improving their health and wellbeing.

A sub-brand of Change4Life, SmallSteps4Life aims to help primary and secondary pupils to set themselves small, achievable lifestyle challenges (either as individuals or as groups) around three themes - Healthy Eating, Getting Active, Feeling Good. The project is led by the Food Standards Agency.

Teachers and young people have had an important role in helping to develop the website which will enable schools to promote what they are doing and share their experiences to inspire other schools across the UK.

SmallSteps4Life has produced a list of FAQs. You may care to read this for more information about Small Steps.
