Whole-school focussed day on emotional health and wellbeing

Something for everyone

The whole-school day focussed on emotional health and wellbeing is packed with ideas, so there's plenty of scope to find something in this resource that will appeal to everyone.

Establish an ethos of caring and respect

Use the resource for a dedicated Healthy Schools week, at the end of the school year or at the start of the new academic year.

Believe 11It includes suggestions for assemblies and ideas for developing emotional awareness and self-esteem, together with suggested coping strategies. Designed to appeal to teachers whatever their interest, the activities incorporate physical activity, trust and co-operation, literacy and numeracy, cookery and music. There’s something for everyone!

Further ideas

Ideas to extend the work are included in the resource. In particular, it provides the perfect platform on which to base either the emotions or the self-esteem short programmes.

Tasters

We hope that you will find inspiration from the ideas within the resource and that you will enjoy using them and expanding them to meet the needs of your school and its pupils. Download these tasters: Hand massage and Biscuit recipes children can easily make. Here's a parental consent form which you may care to use in advance of hand massage (if you don't already have one).
