Training
Our training covers the practicalities of the Healthy Schools process as well as specific aspects of the core themes. All our full-day courses begin with coffee at 9.15, formal training starts at 9.30, lunch is provided and training finishes at about 3.30pm.
Self-validation, outcomes and the online audit tool
This workshop is designed to help you with self-validation, using the online audit tool and formulating your outcomes. It is based on our own experience and that of schools. It provides guidance on the most effective and stress-free way to achieve National Healthy School Status (NHSS).
If your school is preparing to self-validate for the first time, this training will help you. Bring a wi-fi enabled laptop if you can because the hands-on online audit workshop in the afternoon will give you the opportunity to work on your audit with a member of the Healthy Schools team close at hand to offer help and answer any queries you may have.
13th October 2010, venue in the east of Cornwall to be finalised.
17th May 2011, venue in the west of Cornwall to be finalised.
Enhancement and Healthy Schools Plus training
If your school validated before 31st December 2007 you now have a pressing need to move to using the annual review tool and the enhancement model. Because the enhancement model and Healthy Schools Plus have so much in common, we are combining enhancement training with training for the third tranche of schools wanting to sign up to the south west Healthy Schools Plus pilot.
9th September 2010, Trevenson Church and Community Hall, Pool.
16th September 2010, Burrows Centre, Par.

Online drop-in days
We began offering online drop-in days last year and schools have found them to be really helpful. If your school is preparing to validate for the first time and you need help with using the online audit, these days are for you. If your school is about to begin with the online annual review tool you can also get support if you come to one of these drop-in days. A member of the Healthy Schools team will be close at hand to help you with any queries you may have.
