Learning to give
Our self-esteem develops when we feel that we have the capacity and goodness to help others.
Save the Children
Pupils can help other children by choosing a suitable fundraising activity and by registering for the Emergency Network supporting resources. See the section for teachers on Save the Children's website. These resources and teaching suggestions show what happens when an emergency occurs and how Save the Children helps. There are online materials including ideas for assembly. Once registered, schools can also receive the Friendship Funday pack containing stories from children around the world and giving ideas as to how the school council can get involved. There are suggestions for lessons, more assembly ideas, a DVD and fundraising materials.
