Fit For Girls Case Studies
Between 2005 and 2007, 27 secondary schools in Scotland took part in the Girls in Sport and Physical Activity initiative; a training programme, developed by sport Scotland and Youth Sport Trust, for PE staff and Active Schools Coordinator designed to faciliatate new ways of engaging girls and young women. The programme grew out of a desire to put in place ideas stemming from a wealth of research and experience of issues influencing girls' participation in sport and physical activity. Recent information about this initiative can be found here.
The selection of case studies (below), provide an opportunity to share the difference that the Girls in Sport and Physical Activity Programme made to girls in the participating schools. By sharing the work of the schools and the girls, we hope that they will be a source of inspiration to other schools facing similar issues. Furthermore, if your school is thinking of completing the Cornwall Healthy Schools Award, these case studies could help you to generate ideas for your very own case study!
Additional Case Studies
