How much physical activity do children and young people aged 5-18 need to do to keep healthy? 

  • Children aged between 5 and 18 should do at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
  • On at least 3 days a week, this activity should include activities to strengthen muscles, such as running.
  • ‘Whatever our age, there is good scientific evidence that being physically active can help us lead healthier and even happier lives’
