About the Cornwall Physical Activity Strategy

The Cornwall Physical Activity strategy was developed jointly between Cornwall Council Public Health and Cornwall Sports Partnership, with input form a wide range of interested stakeholder and signed off by the Health and Wellbeing Board. There are a wide range of stakeholder who will help to deliver the aims.

The aim of getting 50,000 people more active is intended to encourage 25,000 currently inactive people to begin to be active on a regular basis and encourage 25,000 moderately active people to become more active.

Chief Medical Officer Guidelines recommend 150 minutes a week of moderate level exercise or 75 minutes a week strenuous exercise for adults.

For children the guidelines is one hour of physical activity per day.
