What is the Primary Sport Premium?

The primary school sport premium is a sum of government funding jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport. Investment goes directly to individual primary school Head Teachers and is designed to support improvement in the quality and depth of PE and school sport.

High quality provision focuses on a range of outcomes designed to deliver a balanced and holistic PE and school sport offer including; physical literacy and learn to swim, healthy lifestyles, a broad range of experiences including non-traditional/cultural activities and links to community sports clubs.

Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality and sport they offer.
